ABOUT APOGEE ENGAGE

At Apogee, we believe in transforming education into an engaging and dynamic adventure. We blend elements of Socratic learning, hands-on experiential projects, and interactive technology to create a lively environment where learning feels more like an exploration than a classroom.

We don't follow the traditional grade-level system—instead, we have mixed-age classrooms and self-paced learning designs. Our projects are designed to teach real-world skills, culminating in public exhibitions of learning. We don't measure success by test scores or report cards but by the ability of our learners to take charge of their own education and thrive in their learning journeys.

Coach Job Description

As a Coach at Apogee Engage, you will play a crucial role in guiding our learners toward independence and success.

Your responsibilities will include:

Facilitating Learning: Lead Socratic discussions and facilitate a variety of engaging learning opportunities for our young leaders.

Empowering Learners: Encourage students to take ownership of their learning journey and explore their independence.

Creating Projects: Help develop and facilitate real-world projects and challenges that stimulate creativity and problem-solving.

Supporting Learners: Offer one-on-one attention to students working both in small groups and independently, ensuring that each learner is engaged and supported.

Cultivating Culture: Maintain an awareness of the needs of individual learners and the broader classroom environment, ensuring a positive and empowering culture.

Goal Setting: Guide learners in setting personal and academic goals that promote growth and development.

Being a Role Model: Lead by example in your life, modeling the values and behaviors we encourage in our learners.

Allowing Exploration: Be confident and supportive, while stepping back at times to let learners discover solutions on their own.

Preferred Experience and Skills

We are looking for individuals who bring a variety of experiences, skills, and a fresh mindset to the table:

Background in Education: A background in teaching or working with children is beneficial, but we are especially open to candidates who are eager to break away from traditional education models.

Project-Based Learning Experience: Prior experience with project-based learning is preferred but not required.

Entrepreneurial Mindset: We value individuals who are passionate about working hard, solving problems, and constantly striving to improve.

Collaboration and Teamwork: A strong ethic of teamwork, a genuine desire to collaborate with colleagues, and a commitment to professionalism are essential.

Compassionate Boundary Setting: A commitment to practicing gentle, compassionate boundary setting that supports the learning environment.

Openness to Growth: Willingness to be coached, mentored, and to try new things, with the courage to make mistakes and reflect on those experiences.

If you're someone who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on, and empowering environment and you're ready to help shape the future of education, we’d love to hear from you!
